I am a freelance web designer and developer with an interaction design background, based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

My front end skills (HTML, CSS, javascript) are excellent and I am an expert in accessibility guidelines, progressive enhancement techniques and web design best practices in general.

I have a lot of experience designing websites and interfaces. I believe that in design, aesthetics and usability are equally important. My designs usually feature strong typography, a lot of whitespace and many subtle details.

Moreover, I speak English quite well. That means that even though I'm Dutch, you don't have to worry about spelling errors and bad grammar. For instance, I know the difference between there, their and they're.

Examples of my work

I have designed and implemented all the above, except slides 15–18 (implemented by me, designed by Puur!fct) and slides 11–14 (designed by me, not yet implemented).

All photography is either stock or has been provided by the respective clients. The "sunset" banner in slides 4–5 was not designed by me.

Only the logos in slides 19–21 and slides 27–30 have been designed by me.

WebGUI

“Why would I want to hire a Dutch developer?” you may ask. Well, one reason could be that I am an expert on WebGUI (application framework and CMS) front end implementation. I am responsible for many templates in the WebGUI core and know all its pitfalls and caveats. Though I'm not a programmer, I do have a lot of experience in writing technical and functional specifications for this system. This knowledge will be invaluable if you plan to modify or extend the WebGUI core.
